James ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ III: Pursuing Style in the Age of Independence pays homage to benefactor James ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ III with an installation of compelling art and objects owned (and donated) by the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ family. This exhibition reimagines the interior of James ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ III’s study, and includes objects as diverse as an eighteenth-century air pump, a suit worn by James ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ III himself, an impressive selection of books from James ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ III’s noted library, and a number of paintings from the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ bequest. This is the second reinterpretation of the American collection funded by the Luce Foundation.
